Civil Liberties Panel 2011

On March 1, 2011, we held our annual Civil Liberties Panel hosted by the Government classes at Harwich High School. The panel was chaired again by Superior Court Judge Robert Rufo, and featured two new participants - Assistant District Attorney Matthew Kelley (HHS '98) and Attorney Robert Hofmann. Officer Jeffrey Davis served again this year as our law enforcement representative. Like last year, we held mock Motion to Suppress hearings based on two hypothetical scenarios, one involving an automobile search and the other a house party. It was a spirited and engaging exercise, and we would like to again thank the panelists for taking time out of their busy schedules to help educate our students on the details and importance of civil liberties.
